In a Hot Air Balloon you are witness to the world from the security of only a small basket.  There are no engines to disturb the experience and in its silence the true beauty of the world is revealed. But in a Hot Air Ballooning competition there is much more than the splendor of nature. It combines the worlds of physics, meteorology, technology and team competition together in the pursuit of a single goal, to achieve the competition task. The teams face the strong winds, demanding calculations and tension with energy, enthusiasm and joy.

A Hot Air Balloon competition is a true dual adventure in the skies and on the ground. Windriders will document this experience from the most personal of perspectives. Cameras will travel with the balloons and ground crews to capture the excitement and passion of the sport. It will document the intimate and thrilling moments during the 20th FAI World Hot Air Balloon Championship (an international competition organised in the United States of  America in accordance with the competition rules of the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI), the International Air Sport Federation).
